Laura Anne Kay was born in Roanoke, Virginia, and has been dancing since she was three years old. She grew up at the Star City School of Ballet in Roanoke and trained in ballet, pointe, partnering, modern, contemporary, and jazz styles. In May of 2025, she graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography, and minors in English and Mass Communications. She had the honor of working and performing with multiple companies during her time at USC, including the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and Joffrey Ballet Chicago. She also attended the American Dance Festival in 2023 and 2024 and worked with Pilobolus alumni Nile Russell and Matt del Rosario, as well as Monique Haley. In August of 2025, she performed as a company member with Caroline Lewis Jones’ Unbound Dance Company in their show, Love is Louder, and is absolutely thrilled to be dancing with Atlanta Contemporary Dance Company for their 25/26 season. Laura Anne is interested in investigating how classical vocabulary might be expanded upon to create new, innovative movement pathways and is immensely grateful for the family, love, and experiences that dance has given her throughout her life.
