MARY ROSE GIBSON

COMPANY MEMBER

Mary Rose Gibson began her dance journey at Georgia Dance Conservatory at the age of three and began her formal dance training with Georgia Metro Dance Theatre at age nine. After completing high school, she attended Brenau University where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a minor in Small Business Management. During her time at Brenau, she was a company member in the Gainesville Ballet Company, where she had the opportunity to dance in both classical and contemporary ballet works. She has performed both soloist and corps de ballet roles in classical productions such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Paquita, and Don Quixote. In addition, she has had the honor of working with notable choreographers such as Anthony Burrell, Arturo Fernandez, Armando Luna, Jennifer Davis, and Kassandra Taylor Newberry. She has received additional training through summer programs with Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Ballet Magnificat!, and Gainesville Ballet Company.

Mary Rose is a faculty member at Georgia Dance Conservatory where she teaches ballet, jazz, and contemporary. She has performed with Southern Arc Dance Theater, Watershed Dance Theater, and Gwinnett Dance Project, and was a company member with City Gate Dance Theater from 2019 through 2022. She has also choreographed and helped stage productions for Georgia Metro Dance Theater, The Walker School, and Gwinnett Dance Project. Mary Rose is excited to be joining Atlanta Contemporary Dance Company for the 2023/2024 season.
