Cladia Thrasher is a dance artist in Atlanta, Georgia. She began dancing at an early age, having developed a passion for movement and the arts. She was a competition dancer for many years, training in styles such as ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and hip hop, before being accepted into the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2018. In May 2022, she graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance. At UNCSA, she had the pleasure of performing works by Jose Limon, Merce Cunningham, Juel Lane, Ashley Lindsey, Ming-Lung Yang, Kira Blazek-Ziaii, and Yoshito Sakuraba. Along with her training and performance experiences, she has also had opportunities to choreograph works for the stage and on film. Cladia is a skilled performer and artist, who has a love for story-telling and creating, and is passionate about multi-disciplinary collaboration. She enjoys being able to create art and visuals that intersect her love of movement with multiple art mediums such as film, photography, etc. Cladia also enjoys acting, choreographing, writing, and directing. Recently in her professional career, she has performed with Innergy Dance Inc led by artistic directors Tyra J. Ike-Asogwa and Alicia Nicole Thompson, is a current dance artist with Monica Hogan Danceworks led by artistic director Monica Hogan Thysell, and is a current teacher’s assistant/instructor for Ballethnic Academy of Dance. Cladia is very excited to be a 2023-2024 company apprentice with Atlanta Contemporary Dance
